Trump hires lawyer, shockingly not Sidney Powell, to defend impeachment

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told reporters on Thursday that South Carolina attorney Butch Bowers will be the lead attorney in former President Trump’s impeachment trial.

No word on when they will release the Kraken.

 I really hope President Biden nails it, and I wish him the best as my President.

Here's hoping that the presidency is only something we read/hear about occasionally, instead of every minute of every hour of every day.

Already, the silence is soothing my inflamed senses (and, oddly, my 401k balance-more about the market later).

Second, and speaking as a former San Franciscan well familiar with the Vice President's career,  I sincerely wish that our 78-year-old president enjoys 4-years of excellent health.

Amusement Parks Reimagined

Apparently, this particular amusement park is known for having really good rides. This South Carolina couple availed themselves of a modified ferris wheel to try out some new positions. The extremely public nature of the performance seems to have incited some envy among other patrons of the park, leading them to summon the local gendarmerie. For a bit of added sensationalism, the couple videorecorded their randy exploits, and posted it online.

This seems to be a growing thing around the country as people are using sites like OnlyFans to produce and market their own adult video products for a little extra income. Possibly something along those lines might have been the motivating factor here. I can't wait for the sequel where they do the bumping cars.

The new "justice correspondent" for Nation Magazine is none other than our very own Elie Mystal, a man who has never met a buffalo wing he didn't like.

Mystal is pretty worked up over the grave danger that MAGA world a/k/a "violent white supremacists" poses to the new veep because they are "embedded" in the very agencies charged with her protection.

As evidence, Mystal cites a "pro-trump mime" supposedly posted on social media by an agent. Because everyone knows that mimes are a precursor to political assassination.

Starting 2021 with a bang, this story has a little of everything. Old folks, police use of force, sex with animals and child pornography. I had never made the connection before, but in searching for articles on this case, I pulled up numerous unrelated stories of other defendants who had this same combination of child porn and animal sex/porn charges. Apparently, it's like Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Kids and critters have an overlapping fan club of fetishists.

Most Underreported Story of the Cocked-Up Year 2020

Amongst all the folderol of politics, pandemic, Chinese honey traps and tariffs on highland single-malts, this important story received very sparse attention from the media. Very few details were covered by any of the outlets that troubled themselves to acknowledge the story at all. For example, even though they chose the term "unnatural" (due to an obvious need to distinguish the acts at issue from what New Orleans police or reporters view as "natural" sex acts with horses), there are no details.

I note this media failure here in the hopes that some member(s) of the Commenteriat with sick sleuthing skills and some time to pursue this story will manage to get hold of the video and/or fill us in on the more complete facts of this matter, as well as the underlying motives.
